Old Public Trust Building Centenary Website
Case Study: Content for the Old Public Trust Building Centenary Website
Client: Creative New Zealand
Timeframe: March – June 2009
The Old Public Trust Building in Lambton Quay is a major Wellington landmark. Surprisingly, there was little information available to the public on this historic building. To remedy this, Creative New Zealand wanted to provide a resource to the community to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Old Public Trust Building. They commissioned Lift Education to create the content for an engaging and informative online resource.
We set our researchers to work and came up with a wealth of interesting facts on the historic building. We wrote screen hotspots on the homepage, so users can hover over different parts of the historic building and learn all about them. These hotspots include the copper dome, the brick work, the vaults and the Public Trust institution. We created a timeline, and provided images and information on the commission and construction of the building as well as the earthquake-strengthening work. We also developed a stories and memories area, so people can email in their recollections of the historic building and have them posted on the website. Visit the Old Public Trust Centenary website
