Donations Toolkit

Zealand Online Toolkit
Client: Creative New Zealand
Timeframe: August 2008 – February 2009
Creative New Zealand wanted to provide a resource to the Arts community to help them understand recent changes to the tax rules on donations. Working with Creative New Zealand, Lift Education created the online Donations Toolkit in consultation with other organisations working in the philanthropic sector.
We wanted to create a resource that was informative and easy to use. Together with Creative New Zealand, we talked with the Arts community and other key stakeholders to find out what information and resources they needed to make the most of these changes. The toolkit was developed to meet those needs.
It’s a great resource that explains the changes and explains how individuals and organisations can benefit from these changes. Features include useful links to resources, downloads for forms, suggestions on how to find the right donor, a video interview with a donations arts success story and a glossary that translates the ‘tax language’ into plain English. There is also a forum where you can post questions and comments.
Although the Donations Toolkit was developed for the Arts community, it’s clear that the toolkit will be a valuable resource for other organisations.
