Case Study: Review of SunSmart Teachers’ Curriculum Resources

The Cancer Society wanted to make sure their SunSmart Teachers’ Curriculum Resources were useful, user-friendly and accessible for teachers and that they linked to the new curriculum. They commissioned Lift Education to carry out a review of the resources.

We undertook phone surveys with teachers who were using the resources. We wanted to find out what teachers thought of the resources and how they thought these resources related to the new curriculum. We surveyed teachers from schools around New Zealand and provided the Cancer Society with a summary report of the feedback from the teachers.

As well undertaking the surveys, we also had one of our experienced educators take an in-depth look at the resources. Drawing on her experience in developing educational resources and her knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, she made a number of recommendations that would enhance the resources and get teachers and students excited about using them.
