In a continuation of our long working relationship with Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Lift has created a full suite of trainer and trainee resources for redeveloped courses for training rural firefighters. The trainee resources integrate high-quality print resources with engaging digital content accessible through augmented reality (AR) technology.
Audience engagement told us that while video and interactivity had some benefits, users overwhelmingly preferred print resources to online learning. Our solution has been to create well-designed, professionally illustrated materials with additional digital content accessed through an app.
AR interaction in these materials include interactive scenarios, manipulable diagrams, and purpose-built video and audio content demonstrating key tasks.
Initial users have been overwhelmingly positive about this combination, appreciating the mix of content and saying the videos and interactions work well to reinforce and exemplify the key concepts.
